The main difference between students taking EMI courses and students taking non-EMI courses lies in the courses’ language of instruction. How they effectively process and express information from their native language to English plays an essential role in ensuring effective communication and comprehension.
It is crucial to understand students' English proficiency levels in order to provide learning support and instruction to shorten learning gaps, which also allows us to assess the effectiveness of our EMI strategy and identify room for improvement. Additionally, it is equally important to give students a push of encouragement through tangible measures in order to ensure a sense of accomplishment.
