Last week, NCCU's EMI Resource Center and the Bilingual Education and Multicultural Promotion Office (BMO) were privileged to welcome two EMI experts from National Taiwan University EMI Teaching and Learning Center (NTU EMI TLC) to share their experiences in implementing and planning their EMI project.
Professor Wan-Chen Lee offered an insightful introduction to the essence of EMI: its origin, definition and how NTU strengthens its faculty members' teaching skills through workshops like "EMI Plus." Additionally, professor Lee introduced different teaching communities along with many sharing sessions, hoping to foster future collaboration by connecting educators with potential partners.
Dr. Chao-Chi Lin provided an overview of EMI TAs training structure, which involves a combination of online courses and on-site practical exercises in order to holistically improve the future educators. Other competitions were introduced such as Writing Camp and 3MT (Three-Minute Thesis Competition), hoping to evoke excitement for EMI courses.
Thank you professor Lee and doctor Lin for the sharing. Let us support each other on this journey together!
