Last week, the Office of International Cooperation (OIC), with funding from the Bilingual Education and Multicultural Promotion Office (BMO), served up a delightful language treat with the very first English Diner session. The very first topic for the event this time is all about social media.
Before the start of the event, our staff at English Diner invited professor Tang Ching-ping, Vice President of OIC and Executive Director of BMO, to give out a few words of introduction and encouragement to all participants. After professor Tang's warm speech, students began their heated yet intriguing discussion on different angles of social media. Whether they were basic topics such as various social media platforms available in the market, up-and-coming trends and daily using habits or sophisticated questions regarding the impact of social media to humanity, all 40 students had an eye-opening experience from the English conversations with table leaders from all different backgrounds.
English Diner is an event series hosted by BMO & OIC, featuring international table leaders guiding local students through English conversations based on designated topics. It's all about learning English and cultural exchange in a relaxed setting!
Big thanks to everyone who joined us this time around! If you missed out on this round of the English Diner, no worries - make sure to reserve your table for the next one!
